Smith asked Dion which of her songs best represented her golf game. Then Dion burst into a rendition of her “Titanic” hit “My Heart Will Go On.” But she added a little twist.

Dion sang, “Near, far, wherever you are, I believe that my ball will go on.” She encouraged Smith to join her in singing, which he did. “You’re not bad,” Dion told Smith. “I’m coming to Vegas, I’m gonna come to Vegas for the residency!”laughed Smith. The video, posted on ESPN’S X account, cuts away to golfer Tiger Woods looking on a laughing. Fellow ESPN announcer Matt Barrie took the opportunity to weigh in on “Titanic.” He said, “While we’re on this theme, can I, can I get something off my chest? Rose was so selfish to push Jack off the floating door. I’ve never gotten over that.”

The opportunities to hear Celine Dion sing have been few and far between in recent years.

Dion stepped back from performing after revealing that she was suffering from a very rare disease called “stiff-person syndrome.” The illness affects just one to two people in a million. Her struggle was documented in a documentary series titled “I am: Celine Dion” on Prime Video.

Organizers of the “Eurovision Song Contest” are hopeful that Dion’s health will allow her to return to this year’s contest in May. The contest launched Dion’s career in 1988. The Canadian won the contest representing Switzerland, singing “Ne Partez Pas Sans Moi.
