Just In: Jennifer Lopez has a new headache thanks to Diddy amid stress-filled Ben Affleck divorce

Jennifer Lopez has a lot on her plate right now. After filing for divorce from actor Ben Affleck — bringing an end to her fourth marriage — a major breakthrough occurred in the legal problems that have enveloped Lopez’s ex Sean Combs throughout 2024.

Combs — better known as Diddy — was apprehended and arrested in New York City last week on charges of racketeering and sex trafficking amid allegations that date back to the 2000s. If Lopez, who dated Combs between 1999 and 2001, wasn’t yet worried about the ramifications Diddy’s legal woes could have for her…she might be soon.

In the latest instance of “what’s old is new again”, resurfaced photos show Lopez and Combs “cuddling up” in a giant bed at the hip-hop mogul’s Fourth of July party in 2000. Lopez, 30 at the time, had released her debut album “On the 6” the previous year — the record, co-produced by Combs, reached #8 on the Billboard 200 and established her as a crossover star after success in films during the 1990s.

Combs and Lopez are far from the only celebrities pictured at the Independence Day bash, a year before the couple broke up and Lopez began dating Affleck. Also in attendance were Jay-Z, Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder Dame Dash, and the late R&B singer Aaliyah. Other stars, such as Leonardo DiCaprio and Sarah Jessica Parker, were also known to attend Diddy’s parties over the years.

The photos coming back into the public eye is no coincidence given Diddy’s arrest on federal charges; the 54-year-old is currently being held in Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center after being denied bail. The timing is also interesting given the amount of materials that federal authorities recovered from raids of Diddy’s homes in Miami and Los Angeles — such as thousands of bottles of lubricant, which Diddy alleged used for his infamous “Freak Off” sex parties.

Lopez’s exact involvement is not known, but the scale and the nature of the allegations against Combs could convince her to release a statement in the coming weeks — even as she has her hands full with a complicated divorce.
