Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg angry, says that Apple is making them pay for “failing iPhone sales” by
Mark Zuckerberg recently criticized Apple, accusing the company of lacking innovation and depending too heavily on the sustained success of the iPhone. The Meta CEO shared these thoughts during an in-depth discussion on Joe Rogan’s podcast
“Steve Jobs invented the iPhone and now they’re just kind of sitting on it 20 years later,” Zuckerberg said, suggesting that fewer people are buying new iPhones because each new version isn’t much better than the last
He thinks Apple is making up for falling iPhone sales by charging app makers too much money. “They do it by basically like squeezing people and having this 30 percent tax on developers,” he explained.Zuckerberg is particularly upset about how Apple won’t let other companies’ devices work smoothly with iPhones.
He pointed to AirPods as an example, saying Apple blocks other companies from using the same connection technology. “If they did, there would probably be much better competitors to AirPods out there,” he said.
He also took a shot at Apple’s new VR headset, saying their “$3,500” Vision Pro isn’t as good as Meta’s much cheaper headset. Though he admitted Apple might improve, saying “their second and third version will probably be better than their first version.”
