The outlet was told that petition was granted without any fuss or a formal hearing. The request for the name change was filed three days after her milestone birthday. She turned 18 this past May.
This news comes as the hearing was delayed at the end of July. Shiloh’s lawyer Peter Levine issued a statement about the delay explaining that the “the court was unable to complete the background check.”
Peter added how this delay was “normal” since everyone undergoes the background check process conducted by the court clerk. The new date for the rescheduled hearing was August 19.
In July, Shiloh reportedly took out an ad in the Los Angles Time to announce she was getting rid of her father’s last name. According to California law, in order for a judge to decide to grant a name change, the person has to have the forms published in newspaper for a month. The request has to legally show up in a official publication.
