Good news: Patrick, Brittany Mahomes announce birth of third child
KANSAS CITY, Mo. —
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes said he’s glad he got the chance to “be in the moment” for the birth of his third child during his bye week.
Patrick and Brittany Mahomes welcomed their second daughter, Golden Raye, on Sunday, the couple shared on Instagram.
I’m just supporting. Brittany crushed it,” Patrick said. “It’s been cool to welcome another baby girl in our family and see how my other kids react to her and having baby sissy and stuff like that, so it’s been a lot of fun.”
Patrick gave all the credit to his wife when asked if managing football and parenthood has gotten easier now that the two are on their third baby.
“Brittany’s doing everything, so I’m just trying to be supportive,” he said.
Patrick said he was grateful he could be there for the special moment, and that he wasn’t completely tuned out of football even at the hospital.
“It was cool that football was on TV when I was in the hospital, so I got to watch a little bit,” he said. “Brittany was kind enough to let us watch football as she was getting ready to give birth to our second daughter.”
Despite some joking from head coach Andy Reid about four or five kids being easy after having three, Patrick indicated there’s no plan for another baby.
“I’m good with three for right now,” he said. “We’ll see down the line, maybe, but my goal was always three, so we’ve had three, and we’ll stick there for a while and see if we need to come back and get another one later on.
